Kitty Von-Sometime

Kitty has created and developed each concept from the visual aspects, movement, media used through to the concept design of the costumes. She has directed or co-directed each photo shoot and video and has either entirely edited and co-directed film media produced so far. Kitty has no training and believes that art should not be restricted to those who have been to art school. Her first video project was for Einar Örn’s current band Ghostigital accompanying their single Not Clean, which was a video filmed and produced within a 24 hour deadline. It was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards in 2007.

Her DJ alter ego Kiki-Ow together with Icelandic artist Curver Thoroddsen provided Reykjavík with it’s first theme club nights successfully filling its biggest downtown venue, Nasa, many times over and has been invited to Dj in other countries including the USA, Poland, Italy and China. After successfully working on raising Icelandic musicians profiles in the world wide web (including Gus Gus) she was employed by Icelandic global champion CCP games as a producer, specifically to head up the online community aspect of their 250,000 player base and has since been a guest speaker at the global music industry conference ‘Who is in Control?’ run by Icelandic Music Export.

Kitty moved to Iceland from London after 6 years of visiting the country as often as 10 times a year. Upon relocating, her personal blog became a local stop for foreigners visiting the country and locals alike. This led to her employment by Iceland Express in 2006 to write regularly on their official blog guide for tourists.

Kitty loves cats and spandex. She doesn't like taking herself too seriously.
